HRS-130 loudspeakers receive a third Editors’ Choice Award from leading US audiophile magazine The Absolute Sound

For the third year running our HRS-130 loudspeaker has received The Absolute Sound magazine’s coveted Editors’ Choice Award. This is principally due to an outstanding review these loudspeakers received in the magazine in 2017 written by their senior reviewer Dick Olsher. Dick is an extremely experienced and respected audio reviewer, having written for both The Absolute Sound and Stereophile, the two most influential audiophile magazines in the world. He has also produced several successful loudspeaker designs. This gives him an especially deep insight into reviewing loudspeakers, which is enhanced by his background as a scientist. He has been a long-time fan of wide-bandwidth drivers and was especially impressed with our DDD driver, which he has described as, “… one of the top five driver innovations of the past 40 years”.

The citation for this year’s award is equally powerful:

"The Unlimited II’s bigger brother combines a carbon-fiber Dicks Dipole Driver (DDD) with a floor firing 10” woofer. The DDD is a serious attempt to mimic the coherent soundfield produced by a small radially pulsating cylinder. Expect an exceptionally wide sweet spot coupled with palpable image outlines. The HRS-130 is almost perfect for a small-to-medium size room, providing that it is acoustically tuned along the lines of live-end/dead-end to sharpen image focus. Midrange textures are capable of exceptional purity, characterized by low levels of distortion through the upper midrange."

Our thanks to Dick Osher, for his insightful and informative reviews of our HRS-130 and Unlimited loudspeakers in The Absolute Sound and to their editor Robert Harley for his generous support.
